Interesting seed pods look appealing in dried arrangements, too. Named for Gertrude Jekyll, one of the most influential garden designers of the 20th century. Love-in-a-mist is drought tolerant, and self-sows readily to grace your garden year after year.

When to Sow Outside: RECOMMENDED. 2 to 4 weeks before your average last frost date. For continual bloom, sow every 2 to 4 weeks after initial sowing until midsummer. Also sow in early fall for very early spring bloom.

When to Start Inside: Not recommended; seedlings are sensitive to transplant disturbance.

Thinning: When 1' tall thin to every 8"

Harvesting: For longest vase life, harvest in the morning, choosing recently opened flowers with well-colored petals. Seed pods can be harvested at any stage.
