Description
Provide a safe, eco-friendly place for bats to roost with the Bat House by North States. This house measures 5.25 x 9 x 12 inches high and is constructed of quality wood which is naturally rot resistant. The air vents on the sides and front of the house allow for the proper ventilation. It contains three separate roosting chambers which can hold approximately 75 brown bats. The landing skerfs at the base of the house provide the platform needed for bats to grip when landing and the grooved interior walls provide a cozy and safe place for bats to climb and roost.
Did you know that bats prefer natural settings and are attracted to areas close to water? Neighborhoods with mature trees and grounds are also ideal for bat houses. When you’re ready to mount your house, place it where it’s sheltered from wind and with a southerly exposure that receives at least six hours of daily sun. Keep it at least 10 feet above the ground (12-20 feet is better). Keep the base of the house clear of any obstacles so the bats have easy access to and from.
