We tried to transition our sweet girl over to the hydrolyzed food, but she couldn’t tolerate. Every 2 days we increased the ratio by 25% new food. We noticed red rash on day 2, but it cleared up by the next morning, so we continued the transition, and had no more issues until after completely converting to 100% hydrolyzed food. We monitored her daily for redness & rash. After 3 days at 100% hydrolyzed food, we observed her belly, pits, & paws were red again & then she started shaking her head & scratching her ears. We went back to her old prescription food, Royal Canin GI Low-fat. Our poor girl has IBD, kidney & liver issues. We were hoping the hydrolyzed food would help her kidneys, but I guess we’ll need to try the Telmisartan BP treatment option instead . But thank you Southern Agriculture, for having this food available for other pet parents. I’ve read horror stories about its limited quantity and the stresses it causes when it’s time for a new bag.

Southern Agriculture has been a life line. My boy, Whiskey, has so many allergies and he had pancreatitis as well. His food is next to impossible to source. The previous vendor would send me notice that my order could not be delivered on the date it was supposed to arrive. This happened multiple times. It’s not possible to just go online and order this formulation.
Thinks got really tight when I had to go online and try to find a new vendor. I was so lucky to eventually find Southern Agriculture. They have not disappointed. I highly recommend them.

My 6 year old lab mix was recently put on a very restrictive diet (food allergies, GI disease, critically low albumin, and PLE). The vet gave us a choice of 2 prescription foods he could eat. We have been trying to get him to eat the food that we could find on Chewy but he doesn't like it at all. Which is a real problem since he can't have any other treats or human food.
The vet told us about Southern Agriculture and that it was the only place in the US that we could get the Royal Canin script filled. We received the bag within a couple of days of ordering and he LOVES it! We fill his toy with the food and he thinks he's getting treats. Yay!
Little does he know that it's low fat, hydrolyzed allergy-free! He has had no issues switching to this food and it's been about 5 days now. So grateful!

Sully is a Megaesophagus Great Dane I intercepted on his way to a kill shelter in 2020. After he had his stomach tacked (gastroplexy) in mid 2024, he began a slow decline in health resulting in his readmission to UPenn Vet for pneumonia and to have his gastroplexy revised. Long story short, he was returned to me after a 3 week stay having dropped from 110 lbs to 76 lbs and with a regretful recommendation to have him euthanized as he could not keep any food down even when fed via abdominal wall gastronomy tube.
I didn’t much like that recommendation and chose to hand feed him the Royal Canin one nugget at a time while encouraging him to chew rather than inhale the food. By the end of the first week I transitioned to 3 cup servings of kibble blended with 1.5 parts water (soaked for at least one hour prior to blending) three times per day. We are now in week 3 and Sully is up to 93 pounds (target weight is 132) and his regurgitation is at an all time low (damn near zero).
All of this indicates Sully has a food sensitivity/allergy, so in a few more weeks we will begin the long process of identifying the offending food source and permanently removing it from his diet. In the meantime, Sully loves the Royal Canin in dry or slurry form which is awesome as it quite definitely saved his life.

I'm thank full for guys. When my main source of getting Roy Canin's Gastrointestinal+ Hydrolyzed Protein didn't have it and neither did Royal Canin I was in a panic. Because my dog's immune system is messed up and this is the only food she can have. I know that there are other people in my same shoes. We love the fact that we are able to get Maddie's prescription dog food from Southern Agriculture. They are always professional, knowledgeable, and pleasant to deal with, but it is getting a little disappointing that they keep running out of the Royal Canin hydrolized protein + low fat dog food that our Maddie depends on. Although we were able to purchase the 20 lb. bag that's a little more than we like having around the house. We like the 9 lb. bag, but this is the 2nd time we were unable to get it because they were out.

My vet recently told me that Royal Canin had just come out with a hydrolyzed low fat dog food. My dog is allergic to chicken, so hydrolyzed food is best, but her breed is also susceptible to weight gain. I was happy to finally find a dog food that took care of both issues. This food was recommended to us by our doctor at the Bailey Small Animal Hospital of the Auburn University Vet School. My dog, Eli has allergies and had been on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein dry and later canned food for several years. Because Royal Canin changed the formula/recipe, I was unhappy with the change. I decided to change to a subscription dog food that is delivered fresh and frozen. Eli had a reaction to it because it is not hydrolyzed or low in fat. As mentioned, our doctor suggested we go back to Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein. Southern Agriculture was the ONLY place I could find this particular RC product after Googling retailers in the US!
