In breeding stations, young, motherless pinnipeds are raised. They are called “howlers”. Harbour seals are a type of pinniped, native to all the temperate seas in the north. They are small and slender animals. The males can reach a length of 170 cm and weigh up to 100 kilograms and are thus considerably larger than the females. They live in the northern hemisphere both in the Pacific and Atlantic Ocean.
